Gambit Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

Overview

This policy explains what information the Gambit app, made by Saiph House, collects and how it is used.

Information we collect

Task data you enter. Tasks, difficulty tiers, timed sessions and their results, and the Elo rating and rank that Gambit calculates from them.

Account information. [CONFIRM: what Gambit stores for your account, such as sign-in method, email address or username.]

Apple Health data (optional). If you allow it, Gambit asks for read-only access to five types of Health data: step count, active energy burned, Apple Exercise Time, workouts and sleep analysis. Gambit never writes to Apple Health. You can change or withdraw this permission at any time in your iPhone's Health settings.

How we use information

To run the app: tracking tasks and timers, calculating your Elo rating and rank, and showing your progress in widgets and Live Activities. Health data is used to verify high-effort tasks (a Verified Win) and to support the Sleep Claim feature.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Gambit has no ads and contains no third-party advertising, analytics or crash-reporting tools. We use Supabase, a database hosting provider, to store the backup copy of your data described below.

Where your data is stored

Your tasks and sessions are stored on your device, which holds the main copy. Gambit also syncs them one way to a database that Saiph House runs on Supabase, as a backup. Gambit does not store your data in iCloud.

[CONFIRM: whether any Health-derived data, such as whether a task was verified, is included in the backup copy.]

Data retention and deletion

Gambit does not delete your data automatically. Your tasks and sessions stay until you delete them. To delete a task, swipe it in the Tasks list; this removes it from your device. To delete your account, open Settings, choose Delete Account, and confirm. This removes your account and clears Gambit's data from your device.

[CONFIRM: that deleting your account also removes your backed-up data from our servers, and whether deleting a single task removes its backup copy.]

Children's privacy

Gambit is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. [CONFIRM against the app's age rating in App Store Connect.]
